“I was fortunate enough to see the before and after. The new facilities are so beautiful and have exceeded all my expectations,’’ she said.
“It feels like a five-star hotel with light-filled and tastefully decorated areas. My favourite space is the new library. It’s so welcoming and peaceful, I am enjoying spending time there.
“Soon after moving from the house in Glen Waverley where I lived for 57 years, I lost my husband so it’s been a big change in my life but the staff at The George have been so kind. They genuinely care and I consider them a ‘gift’.
“If I wasn’t here at this time of my life, I wouldn’t have access to the support I have surrounding me. I also feel safe and secure, and feel part of a real community.’’
Mary says she is enjoying the bayside lifestyle, walks through nearby parklands and her spacious two-bedroom apartment that overlooks beautiful trees.
