RFBI Hawkins Masonic Village nestles in quiet bushland in the outer Newcastle suburb of Edgeworth, close to beautiful Lake Macquarie, on 16 hectares of land donated by Albert Hawkins. 

You will be enchanted by the beautifully maintained gardens, outdoor areas and courtyards overlooking the tranquil views. The village is conveniently located only 3km from the F3 Freeway, 3km to Edgeworth shopping centre and 20km from Newcastle city centre. We are dedicated to helping you enjoy a sociable and fulfilling lifestyle here — but helping you preserve your privacy and be as relaxed as you like. 

For the many enjoyable activities on offer, we provide an on-site community hall for fashion parades, movies, parties, meetings, concerts and family functions. 

We also provide individual activity programs that include bingo, crafts, discussion groups, movement to music, sing-a-longs, choir practice, bus trips, shuffleboard, dances, high teas and games. You will also have access to the village library, genealogy library and internet kiosk.

There is also a men’s shed, open to all male residents, enabling them to take part in activities like woodwork, metalwork, welding, toy making, model railway tasks and social functions. We also have a craft room, open to all who are crafty!

To help you get around outside the village, we have two 12-seater coaches, mainly used for outings, including shopping. Public transport buses also come right into the village.

At RFBI Hawkins Masonic Village we provide 131 residential care rooms, including a 15-bed memory support unit for those living with dementia.

All our residential care facilities offer modern, furnishings, air conditioning, and common areas for socialising and relaxing.

We provide state of the art nurse call and resident monitoring systems for peace of mind. All meals are cooked fresh on site and served in our dining rooms. We also take care of all laundry on site.

The rooms offer true serenity and peace among landscaped grounds and gardens, with safe and secure outdoor areas.
