Uniting Amala has been supporting older people in the local community since 2016. The development has recently been expanded to include dementia specific household living.

Many of Uniting’s team members have been there for years, and they’re all devoted to providing extraordinary round-the-clock care. Familiar faces help forge close connections between staff and residents, and adds to the level of comfort Uniting Amala offers.

Uniting Amala’s main feature is the household living model, which allows residents the freedom and flexibility to do the things they love, when they choose. This could be anything from sleeping in, midnight snacks, a favourite drink at lunch time, running regular bingo nights, or hosting family and friends.

Household living gives you the freedom and flexibility to do the things you love, when you choose, with your own room and ensuites that’s connected to a shared living room and kitchen for up to 20 people.

Staff at Uniting Amala take the time to get to know residents, and together develop personalised routines that are familiar and meaningful, giving a sense of safety and comfort. It’s all designed to help residents feel right at home.
