A REGION WITH BEACHES, A BEAUTIFUL RIVER AND ANCIENT RAINFOREST
On the far north coast of New South Wales, you find a region with stunning rainforest and empty beaches: the region of Lismore.
It has an attractive location and is easy to get to. It’s around a three-hour drive south from Brisbane and an eight-hour drive north from Sydney. It is also possible to reach the area by plane and train, which makes it a great choice for those willing to spend their retirement away from the busy city centre, but, at the same time, being able to move around easily.
Lismore region is home to some of the oldest rainforests in the world, the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia. There are also several national parks within easy reach, like the Wollumbin National Park.
The city of Lismore is the main urban centre in the area. Here you can take a walk along the beautiful riverbank of the Wilsons River and enjoy a lively art and cultural scene.
Health services and facilities are an important factor to consider when deciding on the best location to retire. In the Lismore region you can rely on Lismore Base Hospital, a modern hospital and regional referral.
