ENJOY YOUR RETIREMENT IN THE HILLS AND HAWKESBURY REGIONS
The local government area of Hawkesbury is less than an hour drive northwest of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
It is named after the Hawkesbury River, one of the many attractions that this region has to offer.
The Hills Shire is located north-west of the Sydney CBD (central business district), in the Greater Western Sydney region.
Both of these well known regions of NSW offer great advantages for retirees looking for a good place to spend those precious retirement years.
The Hawkesbury comprises picturesque historic towns such as Windsor, where the streets are lined up with beautiful colonial buildings. It’s the third-oldest colonial settlement in Australia and home to the renowned Hawkesbury Regional Gallery.
Other colonial towns in the region are Richmond, at the foot of the Blue Mountains, Pitt Town, Kurrajong and Wilberforce, just to name a few.
The Hills offers retirees the opportunity to live in suburbs like Beaumont Hills, with good transport connections and a friendly community. Rouse Hill is another great suburb, around 40 kilometres of the Sydney CBD and less than 20 kilometres of the Parramatta central business district.
