Hundreds of additional rental opportunities, including apartments, townhouses and houses across Australia, are now available on Downsizing.com.au.
This is because rental listings from the nationwide Raine & Horne real estate agency network are now included in Downsizing.com.au's rentals section.
As of late August, more than 1,600 individual rental listings were available on Downsizing.com.au via the Raine & Horne feed, including 725 in Sydney, 199 in Melbourne and 138 in Brisbane.
Downsizing.com.au CEO Amanda Graham said the arrangement would help meet a growing demand for rental options among over 50s.
“We know that the number of Australians who are private renters and aged over 55 is expected to increase by 72 per cent from 2016 to 2031,” Ms Graham said.
“This means there are, and will continue to be, a huge number of over 55s who are seeking rental options.
“It’s also becoming more common for groups of older adults to share a flat or larger home, which helps with both affordability and companionship.
“This is why we think these new general rental listings from Raine and Horne will be of such interest to our readers.
“Furthermore, many property investors are likely to be seeking mature older adults as tenants, given they are likely to be more reliable and responsible tenants.
With the Raine and Horne listings, we now have Australia’s widest range of rental options available for over 50s."
The Raine and Horne general rental listings will sit alongside rental listings for specific over 50s property types - such as lifestyle communities and seniors’ rental villages - along with listings posted by our readers looking for seniors’ flatmates.
