The Menzies Malvern retirement community in Melbourne operated by Lendlease hosted its 21st birthday celebration on 26th May 2022.
The village team and residents put on a wonderful show to celebrate the milestone, including having resident George Gatehouse speak about the beloved history of the Menzies Malvern site, along with presenting a watercolour painting to Lendlease Retirement Living, by resident and artist Bob Wade OAM. Lendlease Managing Director Retirement Living, Nathan Cockerill attended and accepted the artwork on behalf of the team.
The residents are proud of the history of Menzies Malvern and 8 of the guests that were in attendance are ‘The Originals’ who moved in 21 years ago. Pictured above is John Van Vugt, the very first resident.
Also in attendance was a staff member who has worked at Menzies Malvern from the very beginning and day one of opening.
Menzies Village Manager Kate Costello said: “Menzies Malvern has a rich history and the residents take great pride in the local community that they have been a part of over the past 21 years. It is simply just a delight to work here as it has such a strong sense of community”.
