Ryman Healthcare continues to shine on the national stage with a slew of staff and projects named finalists at the 2024 Retirement Living Awards.
Yesterday the Property Council of Australia, which runs the industry-leading awards, announced Ryman’s John Flynn Retirement Village, Mulgrave sales suite launch, Senior Development Manager Patrick Fitzgerald, and sales advisor Michelle Shaw have all been shortlisted.
The National Retirement Living Awards celebrate outstanding achievement across all parts of the retirement living sector.
The $277 million John Flynn Retirement Village development, which commenced in late 2019 and was completed earlier this year, is a national finalist in the ‘Best Retirement Living Development – Large Operator’ category. The village is now home to more than 300 residents.
The award recognises retirement living developments that enhance the quality of life of older Australians.
The recognition is the latest in a string of accolades for the village, including the village’s manager, Roslyn Prentice, being named Leading Age Services 2022 ‘Village Manager of the Year’ and a regional finalist in the 2023 Retirement Living Awards ‘Village Manager of the Year’ category.
Ryman’s Senior Development Manager Patrick Fitzgerald is in the running for ‘Future Retirement Living Leader (Corporate)’ for his outstanding management of the company’s Mt Eliza development and outstanding coordination of resident move-ins to John Flynn.
The award celebrates emerging retirement leaders under 35 who demonstrate excellence in leadership and technical skills, and a flair for innovation.
The company’s Mulgrave sales suite, which was launched with an activation-charged ‘Eat, Move, Live’ event, including live music, wine and cheese tastings and Tai Chi classes, attracting more than 600 people over two days, was named a finalist in the ‘Marketing Excellence Award’.The award celebrates retirement providers that have successfully marketed their products and services to prospective residents, leading to an increase in sales and inquiries.
John Flynn Retirement Village sales advisor Michelle Shaw was named a Victorian/Tasmanian finalist in the ‘Salesperson of the Year’ category.
Michelle is the longest serving Ryman Healthcare Australia sales advisor. The selection reflects her unwavering commitment to finding the best retirement living outcomes for residents.
The regional ‘Salesperson of the Year’ winner will be announced at a Property Council event in late February, 2024.
Ryman Healthcare Australia CEO Cameron Holland said he was “blown away” to see the company shortlisted for awards across so many different categories.
“Ryman has been in Australia for 11 years and we’re really proud that our innovative model has been received so well by our residents,” Mr Holland said.
“We’ve seen a huge appetite for Ryman’s continuum of care model here, but the model only works if you have outstanding people who genuinely care about providing older Australians with the lifestyle and care services they deserve.
“To see our team recognised across design, development, construction, operations, marketing and sales tells you everything you need to know about our people, and I couldn’t be prouder to work alongside them.”
The national winners will be announced at the 2024 Retirement Living Awards Gala on the Gold Coast on June 27.
