Levande’s John Neill has been crowned as the 2024 Programmed SA/NT Village Manager of the Year at a Property Council industry event yesterday.
Mr Neill now goes into the running, along with four others, for the national Programmed Award for Village Manager of the Year, with the winner to be announced at the National Retirement Living Awards in June.
Mr Neill, who manages villages in Somerton Park, Brighton and Fullarton, said it was an honour to receive the award and he also spoke about the future of the sector.
“This award recognises the hard work that all village managers and their teams do on the ground every day,” Mr Neill said.
“It is an interesting time for the industry.
“With a younger group of people looking at retirement living, it will be interesting to see how the industry evolves over the next five to 10 years,” he said.
Retirement Living Council Executive Director Daniel Gannon said the retirement living industry is turbo-charged with talent, including dedicated village managers like Mr Neill.
“These industry awards recognise the ‘best of the best’ and those who make a conscious decision every day to improve the lives of senior South Australians and Territorians,” Mr Gannon said.
“It is important to celebrate these wonderful people who power this sector forward every day, while showcasing industry’s commitment to customers, excellence and innovation.
“To John and our other state award winners, we extend our congratulations and wish you the best of luck at the National Retirement Living Awards in June on the Gold Coast,” he said.
