Lifestyle Communities® is saving homeowners up to 30% off each household bill in its Lifestyle Meridian residential community with an innovative solar energy and battery microgrid, the largest of its kind in the country.
The Honourable Lily D’Ambrosio, Minister for Energy and Resources, visited Lifestyle Meridian for a first-hand look at the innovative microgrid.
Minister D’Ambrosio congratulated the initiative from Lifestyle Communities® who has partnered with renewable energy solution provider Mondo at Lifestyle Meridian in Clyde North to deliver a solar and battery micro grid, the largest of its kind in a residential community in Australia.
“Battery microgrids soak up energy when it’s cheap and abundant, including solar energy generated onsite, and dispatch it during peak usage times, meaning more cheap renewable energy is powering the homes at Lifestyle Meridian.” said the Minister.
Clean, low-cost energy is generated from 6kW solar panels placed on every third home acting as nodes in the grid network.
The shared energy is stored in a community battery on site, effectively transforming Lifestyle Meridian into a self-serving power plant, minimising the impact on the environment and drastically reducing homeowner’s energy bills.

Lifestyle Meridian’s microgrid provides certainty to homeowner’s electricity bills, as well as reducing emissions by roughly 600 tonnes every year.
Homeowners can track the performance of the microgrid in real time via a display operating 24/7.
