Aura Holdings is thrilled to announce that stage 2 of the Somerset Indooroopilly retirement community has reached practical completion with new residents set to commence moving in over the coming weeks.
Aura Holdings’ director Tim Russell stated that “Somerset stage 2 stands as a testament to the greater team’s unwavering commitment to excellence in design and community-focused living.
“With its completion, we celebrate not just the fruition of the Somerset vision, but the beginning of the next chapter for many new residents.”
The completion of stage 2 reinforces Aura’s dedication to providing high quality independent living communities in South East Queensland. In addition to the 88 new apartments spanning over five levels and a community garden, stage 2 will feature views across the fairways of the Indooroopilly Golf Club and a dedicated golf buggy path for accessibility down to the clubhouse.
Incoming residents will share access to the community facilities built during stage 1 including a heated indoor pool, gym, yoga and pilates area, billiards room, barbeque and entertaining area, multi-purpose room for functions and a wine room.
Stage 2 comprises a cultivated selection of two bedroom, two bedroom plus study, three bedroom, three bedroom plus study and penthouse apartments over the five levels. Each apartment has been curated with the needs of our residents in mind, discretely incorporating age-appropriate designs with high-end finishes.
Somerset Indooroopilly was designed by Cox Architecture and the construction was undertaken by Woollam Constructions. Woollam were previously awarded the 2022 Brisbane Master Builders Housing and Construction award for Somerset in the ‘Community Accommodation for Aged Care and Nursing Homes’ category.
Cox Architecture’s director Richard Coulson stated on achieving practical completion “Somerset is a benchmark in retirement living and apartment living in Queensland. There was great foresight and commitment from Aura. It was well steered through planning by Urbis and there was a strong vision and persistence led by the design team.
“The completion of the second phase resolves the remarkable landscaped podium that provides exceptional amenity to all residents.”
Stage 2 follows the success of the sold out and fully occupied 80 apartments in stage 1 which was officially opened in April 2022 by Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner.
Earlier this year, Aura Holdings had 48 retirement living apartments added to its portfolio after the completion of “Taylor”, the sixth stage of Kingsford Terrace Corinda. “Radcliffe,” the seventh and final stage at Kingsford Terrace is scheduled for completion in early 2026 and will deliver 59 new apartments.
Construction of an additional 65 apartments in stage 2 of The Pavilion North Kirra is still underway and will be completed later this year.
Proving to be a year of growth, 2024 will see Aura Holdings deliver 201 new retirement living apartments to the market, with multiple projects on the horizon.
