Aveo’s Sunset Palms Retirement Living on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast is fast-tracking construction to meet the demand of retirees seeking an opportunity for a community lifestyle.
Residents are now being welcomed to the first villas completed in stage three of the highly sought-after community in Palmview.
Aveo’s Head of Development, Geoff Robinson, said construction of the 19 villas in the latest stage started in January this year with the final homes to be completed in October.
“Interest has been high on what’s coming after stages one and two sold out quickly and Stage 3 now selling down. Due to this demand, we have now fast-tracked the builder to commence construction of stage four with early works now commenced,’’ he said.
“Sunset Palms consists of five stages of development, and upon completion of the penultimate stage, the community will be home to 135 villas. We look forward to welcoming this new wave of residents into the community and seeing them thrive in their retirement at Sunset Palms.’’
Retiree Sue Barker is preparing to move into her newly completed home at the more ‘intimate’ Sunset Palms after relocating from a large over-50s community.
“I had been living in a community that after 10 years had become too big, I no longer knew the people living there,’’ she said.
“Sunset Palms will be perfect for me as it is small enough that I consider it an intimate community. I'm sure I'll soon know everyone by name.
“I looked at a lot of other retirement communities but then I visited Sunset Palms and loved it from that first day. The atmosphere is so relaxing, and I think I will feel right at home.
“My villa has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a garage with a small, fenced backyard that my dog Benji will love.’’
The community is in the heart of the Sunshine Coast, 15 minutes from Mooloolaba beach, and 20 minutes from the scenic lush hinterland. Residents share a resort-style community centre including an outdoor pool, gym, salon, function room, library, media room, bocce court, and communal vegetable gardens.
Sunset Palms, set in a private corner of the master-planned Harmony residential estate, is surrounded by 130 hectares of green space and extensive walking trails.
The community is located at 58 Harmony Boulevard, Palmview, with villas priced from $555,000.
