With Poinciana House, stage two of Keyton’s Bernborough Ascot retirement community nearing completion, residents of Australia’s first vertical retirement community built within a racecourse precinct, are thriving and enjoying life to the maximum says resident, Judith Harth.
Judith, who moved in just over a year ago with her husband Dennis, is an active resident, participating in plenty of the community’s wellbeing activities and eagerly joined the Bernborough Buskers singing group.
While she loves the social aspects of the community, including daily gatherings at the trackside Master’s Lounge and regular resident events, Judith and her husband were also attracted to the co-location of Opal Healthcare’s Ascot Grove Care Community - slated to be completed in 2027.
Opal HealthCare has lodged a development application to offer a residential aged care facility in the Bernborough Ascot precinct. Importantly, the co-location of Ascot Grove Care Community enables residents to seamlessly move into aged care when additional support is needed.
As to what initially sparked Judith and Dennis’s interest in Bernborough Ascot, she said it was being close to family.
Next it was the spacious, and stylish modern living in a picturesque leafy location on Brisbane’s Doomben Ascot racecourse where they can “watch the horses come round the bend on race days”.
And the icing on the cake is the community amenities including a trackside café and bar, library, art studio and private theatre.
Furthermore, Judith is looking forward to Poinciana House opening early next year which is currently being completed by leading Australian builder Balmain & Co.
Judith is excited by new residents moving into Poinciana House as well as the extended range of amenities being delivered, such as a fitness studio, bowling green, consulting rooms, and indoor heated pool.
“There will also be a rooftop terrace where we’ll be able to meet people and watch the sun go down over the city with a drink in hand,” Judith said.
Keyton Chief Executive Officer Nathan Cockerill says this newest stage ensures Bernborough Ascot continues to redefine the concept of vertical seniors’ living.
“It’s a more connected community, focused on a vibrant and fulfilled lifestyle in a luxurious setting,” Mr Cockerill said.
For residents, Poinciana House will deliver 53 architecturally designed independent living apartments, featuring a mix of luxury one, two and three-bedroom homes. The contemporary apartments seamlessly integrate modern style and premium craftsmanship, setting them apart in the market.
Poinciana House is already over 60 per cent sold and interest remains high driven predominantly by the village’s Ascot location, resort-style amenities, connected community, and services attracting those seeking premium retirement living.
