Bolton Clarke Home and Community support is celebrating the start of its 140th anniversary year with the opening of a new community hub in Wyong NSW to support local older people with aged care services.
The hub will act as a central location to help people age well at home, providing a dedicated local team for the not-for-profit’s existing home care services on the coast.
“This year, Bolton Clarke is celebrating 140 years of caring for Australians,” Chief Operating Officer Home and Community Support Deidre McGill said.
“We started home care in Australia with a single nurse in Melbourne in 1885, and today we support 130,000 people on the coast and across Australia with connected care services including home care, specialised nursing, allied health, retirement living and residential aged care.
“With more than one in four (27 per cent) Central Coast residents aged 60 or older, our new Wyong hub will work with coast seniors and communities to help people live and age positively.”
The Wyong hub will provide extra support including help with navigating My Aged Care for older people and their families as well as free education sessions on topics related to positive ageing.
“It’s a wonderful opportunity to bring the community together to help tailor services for older people and their families across the Central Coast,” Deidre said.
Opening its doors on Thursday, the hub welcomed industry partners and locals to explore the many services now available to better support the ageing population on the Central Coast region.
