A new 85-dwelling retirement village has been launched alongside the ninth hole of a golf club in Queensland’s most popular retirement destination.
Aura Holding has launched The Ninth Middle Ridge, to be built within the Toowoomba Golf Club.
Expressions of interest are now being received for two, three and four-bedroom apartments with expansive views of the parkland golf course.
Early preparation work has begun at the development site, with earthworks to relocate the storage sheds for golf buggies and relocate the tenth tee now underway. Major building work will begin in April, with construction expected to be complete by the middle of 2021.
The Ninth Middle Ridge will be a low-rise development of three and four-storey buildings with community facilities including a gym, billiards area, wine room, library, craft room, lounge, multi-purpose function room, outdoor entertaining and barbecue areas.
Downsizing.com.au recently named Toowoomba as the most searched retirement and downsizing destination in Queensland in 2019.
Aura director Tim Russell said it was exciting to see the early works underway on the site.
“Things are really starting to move now on this much-anticipated project for Toowoomba,’’ he said.
“Both golfers and non-golfers will want to retire to such a beautiful, peaceful and green oasis. It really is a fabulous location to live on the picturesque escarpment of the Great Dividing Range with Toowoomba’s lifestyle benefits and sophisticated facilities nearby.’’
Toowoomba Golf Club general manager David Marr said the development had created an air of excitement among members.
“Already the general conversation around the development is very positive,’’ Mr Marr said. “We feel that the setting and quality of the Aura Holdings’ project very fitting of the demographic of our members.’’
The launch of the Toowoomba project further underlines the popularity of retirement living alongside golf courses.
Aura recently also launched a 172-unit retirement living project alongside a golf course in Brisbane’s west
