New details have been released about the Gold Coast’s latest vertical retirement community as research reveals exactly what coast retirees want from their golden years.
The masterplanned community, to be named Esperance, will transform a disused site on Hope Island into a luxurious village precinct.
The Reside Communities project will ultimately deliver around 300 deluxe apartments and villas with more than a hectare of green space alongside 150 metres of prime water frontage. Future plans include dedicated aged care living options and ground floor retail spaces.
Reside Communities says that Esperance has been tailored to meet the needs and expectations of today’s generation of active and independent retirees.
Located on Sickle Avenue at Hope Island, residents will be just across the road from all the shopping and dining at Hope Island Marketplace, and within easy walking distance of numerous health and leisure services.
Reside Communities CEO Glen Brown said Esperance would set a new benchmark for choice, flexibility and resident amenities for Gold Coast retirees.
“Esperance showcases all the advantages of vertical retirement living, allowing us to provide one of the largest array of resident facilities of any community on the coast while providing a huge amount of open space and capturing exceptional coastal views,” Mr Brown said.
“Our research found the top priorities for Gold Coast retirees were proximity to the water, independence, convenience, security, privacy, freedom of choice, social connections and an experienced and trustworthy operator,” he said.
“They also told us that travelling, health and fitness, volunteering and spending quality time with families and grandchildren were among their most desired leisure time activities.
“Esperance at Hope Island offers all this and more at a fantastic location in the heart of the fast growing and highly sought-after Gold Coast ‘North Shore’.”
Apartments in the first stage of Esperance will range from spacious two-bedroom, two-bathroom homes to stunning three-bedroom penthouses with sweeping water and island views.
Luxury kitchens, open plan living, generous balconies or courtyards, separate laundries and walk-in robes are all standard while many apartments also have media rooms and study nooks.
A large central green plaza will create a vibrant community hub for Esperance, complete with water features, walking paths and lush lawns, while a new boardwalk will run the full length of the village’s canal frontage.
Exclusive recreation amenities will include a cinema, bar, café, library, private function and dining rooms, and outdoor barbecue and entertaining spaces.
Health and wellbeing will be well catered for with an indoor therapy-focused swimming pool, indoor/outdoor resort-style pool, gym, yoga and Pilates studio, hair and beauty salon, health and wellness spaces, and outdoor exercise lawns for activities such as yoga and tai chi.
Mr Brown said the range and choice of resident amenities at Esperance would far outweigh anything else available to retirees on the Gold Coast.
“As a genuine masterplanned community, Esperance has been designed specifically for retirees – those people who want to downsize their home and domestic workload but upsize their lifestyle in one of the most desirable retirement destinations in the world,” he said.
“We are incredibly fortunate to have the space available to deliver on this vision with a brand new five-star community that residents will be proud to call home."
