A national retirement living provider has been given the green light to build a $160 million retirement community with 219 luxury apartments at the major Gold Coast club which is home to the Titans national rugby league team.
Living Choice Parkwood will be based within The Club at Parkwood Village and will include one, two and three-bedroom apartments overlooking a lake, championship 18-hole golf course and the Titans training field.
Living Choice co-owner Ian Tregoning said the facilities at Living Choice Parkwood would be 'world-class' and would include an indoor heated swimming pool, bowls green, tennis court, pickleball courts, auditorium with dance floor, cinema, gymnasium, art and craft studio, library, wellness rooms, outdoor BBQ area, workshop and boardwalk with extensive lawns.
“The Club at Parkwood Village is already a thriving community hub, offering a wide choice of dining, entertainment, sporting, fitness and medical facilities," Mr Tregoning said.
“The club’s facilities will be just a short walk or buggy ride from the retirement village, offering the best of both worlds for residents – you can socialise at the club, meet up with fellow residents in the village’s own leisure centre, or simply enjoy the abundant green space surrounding you from the comfort of your balcony."
Luke Altschwager, Managing Director of The Club at Parkwood Village, said he was very excited about the partnership with Living Choice.
“We have a wonderful property at Parkwood Village and finding the right partner for our retirement village was critical," he said. "After 12 months of looking, Living Choice was clearly the best partner for us, with their high standards and sense of community."
“Living Choice Parkwood offers the perfect synergy with The Club at Parkwood Village, and will tie in well with the existing golf, sports, medical and health facilities already on site.
"We are very much looking forward to working with Living Choice and having such an amazing facility on our doorstep.”
Living Choice’s in-house design, construction, operations, sales and marketing teams will be responsible for rolling out Living Choice Parkwood and it is hoped that a replica of one of the apartments will be ready for viewing in April/May 2021.
Living Choice has ten operating retirement communities in Queensland, New South Wales and South Australia. This will be the company’s 11th village and its first on the Gold Coast.
