All houses have been sold in the first stage of a northern Brisbane retirement village's expansion, with construction of the project's second stage now brought forward as a result.
In further news relating to the strength of the Brisbane retirement living market, Reside Communities has reported it has now sold 35 new on-ground homes, townhomes at its Samford Grove retirement village in Brisbane's north, for prices ranging from $575,000 to $805,000.
Seven apartments remain for sale in the project's first stage, ranging in price from $385,000 to $505,000.
These one and two-bedroom apartments are positioned above the new community centre and offer spacious, low-maintenance living with large private balconies looking out over Samford Valley, lift access and secure parking.
Reside Communities CEO Glen Brown said the completion of a new village community centre at Samford Grove was a major drawcard for local retirees looking for a resort-style retirement lifestyle.
“The completion of The Homestead late last year has been very well received by both residents and buyers with an overwhelming number of locals coming out to tour the new five-star facilities,” Mr Brown said.
“Samford Grove has also been shortlisted as a finalist in The Urban Developer’s national award for Development of the Year in the retirement category which is a fantastic testament to this village’s renowned facilities and lifestyle.”
The project's second stage will include 14 off-the-plan on-ground homes (starting from $780,000) and townhomes (starting from $585,000).
All new on-ground homes feature open plan living areas with 2.7m ceilings, generous kitchens with stone benchtops and European appliances, ample storage, and expansive entertainment areas with built-in barbeques.
New resident moved in from acreage property
For resident Adele Allan, Samford Grove’s new on-ground homes were the perfect choice for her downsize from her large home of the past 37 years.
“My new home at Samford Grove is lovely. It’s a big difference from living on acreage but it has room for all my furniture and my golden retriever, Coco,” Adele said.
“There was a lot of maintenance required at my old house but now I feel like all those issues are gone and I can concentrate on things I haven’t done in a long time, like nothing at all.
“All of the staff have been wonderful, from the sales team to the receptionist. Nothing is every too much trouble which has made it all very simple and easy.”
Samford Grove is located on Camp Mountain Road within easy walking distance of the boutique Samford township with shops, cafes and health services. Hospitals and major shopping centres are just a short drive away.
The decision to bring forward construction at Samford Grove follows Aura's recent decision to bring forward construction on the second stage of a luxury golf course retirement living community, also in Brisbane, after securing a solid sales result for the project's first stage.
