South Australia's first fully integrated golf course retirement community has received planning approval for its final stage, paving the way for construction of a new clubhouse plus three apartment buildings.
Onkaparinga City Council has given the planning approval for the Living Choice Flagstaff Hill project.
Living Choice's Group General Manager Jason Sack said the new multi-million dollar clubhouse will include a wide range of facilities.
These include an outdoor alfresco dining area, an indoor dining-room with dance floor and stage, a members’ lounge and bar, two golf simulators, a new Pro Shop, heated swimming pool, gymnasium and meeting room.
Meanwhile, the apartment buildings will include 90 one, two and three-bedroom apartments.
The approval builds on the project's first two stages, which is currently under construction and includes 42 villas and 17 apartments.
Mr Sack said the latest approval was good news for the village residents, Flagstaff Hill Golf Club members and residents in the local community.
“Other facilities planned for village residents include a surround sound cinema, library and art and craft studio," Mr Sack said.
"There will also be a Wellness Centre where both residents and members of the public can access a wide range of health and wellness services.”
Mr Sack said it was hoped that construction on the clubhouse would start in the first quarter of 2022, as soon as all the necessary Building Consent approvals had been obtained.
“There’s been a lot of interest in the villas and our construction team is building them as fast as they can," he said.
"We’ve also had many enquiries for apartments in `The Range’ building, which is expected to be complete in April/May 2022.”
