An island which is home to the Australian motor cycling grand prix and the world’s largest Little Penguin colony will now also welcome a new residential land lease community for downsizers.
Lifestyle Communities has announced it has acquired a site at Victoria’s Phillip Island which will accommodate a new community with 260 land lease sites.
The community will be 350m from the beach and 2.5km from the town centre of Cowes.
Construction at the site, including a clubhouse, is expected to begin in mid-2022.
“Since we commenced nearly 20 years ago, we have looked at Phillip Island for a suitable opportunity and we are delighted to have purchased a great site in a fantastic location,” said Lifestyle Communities CEO James Kelly.
The scale of this community will allow us to build and develop some wonderful facilities that will complement the existing amenity that Cowes has to offer.”
Phillip Island is 100 square kilometres in size and located alongside the Bass Straight, some 125 km south-east of Melbourne.
Since 1997, its oceanside race track has been home to the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix while it is also known for its abundant wildlife, including seals, birds and penguins.
This will be Lifestyle Communities’ 24th community.
