Queensland’s oldest resident, Mabel Crosby, celebrated her 110th birthday at TriCare Sunnybank Hills Aged Care Residence on Saturday 7 September.
Born on 7 September 1909, Mrs Crosby is thought to be the oldest living Queenslander and second oldest person in Australia.
Mrs Crosby moved to TriCare Sunnybank Hills Aged Care Residence three years ago and continues to be an active member of the Residence regularly attending social events, activities and resident meetings.
A regular church goer, Mrs Crosby enjoys going to services and sermons at TriCare Sunnybank Hills on a Sunday and during the week.
She says her faith has kept her strong and provided direction, which has given her a positive and holistic attitude in life.
Mrs Crosby celebrated this extraordinary occasion with her family and friends at a morning tea hosted by TriCare Sunnybank Hills along with very special guest His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC, Governor of Queensland (pictured above talking to Mrs Crosby).
She enjoyed sharing this milestone with her family who are very supportive and frequent visitors, especially her daughters Robyne, Dorothy and Ruth.
