A Queensland retirement living operator has fast-tracked construction of a new south-west Brisbane project, due to overwhelming demand from downsizers.
Aura Holdings has fast-tracked the fifth stage of its Kingsford Terrace Corinda project, which is located around 11km from the Brisbane CBD.
The decision means that construction of the project's fourth stage, known as Francis, and its fifth stage, known as Lingrove, will both begin next month.
Aura Holdings’ director Mark Taylor says since the start of 2021 demand for independent-living apartments at Kingsford Terrace has been at a record high.
Lingrove is named after the original heritage-listed home built in the area by early settler Robert Francis Hassall between 1882-1883.
Francis honours a remarkable local woman, Angela Francis, and her efforts to improve maternal outcomes amongst mothers and babies in the early European settlement of Brisbane.
Lingrove will offer 30 apartments in one-bedroom, two-bedroom with study, or three-bedroom options, while Francis will provide 18 two and three-bedroom apartments.
Retirees who deposit early will have an opportunity to amalgamate floorplans to create larger apartments and secure the sought-after apartments with city views.
Construction of Lingrove and Francis is due to begin on June 14 with the first residents expected to move in during the second half of 2022.
The two buildings will provide Brisbane retirees with some of the largest independent-living apartments in Brisbane’s south-west.
The apartments that remain for sale range from $590,000 to $980,000.
Mr Taylor says retirees and downsizers are seeking high-quality retirement living in the area they know and love.
“Today’s retirees will not compromise on their standard of living so we are providing a range of apartments in the sizes they have told us they want," Mr Taylor said.
Downsizing to them is more about leaving behind all the maintenance of a family home, yard and pool, not about living somewhere without the space for all the things they love.
"They also want a sense of security surrounded by friendly, like-minded neighbours sharing a high-standard of communal facilities.’’
The pet-friendly village offers residents facilities including a heated indoor pool, café, gym, hairdresser, a stunning cellar to store and enjoy wine, a billiards room, library, dining and functions room and consulting areas for allied health professionals.
